WIA Young Leaders

Since 2021, the WIA Young Leaders programme has supported exceptional young African women who are building dynamic, innovative, and inclusive futures. Through tailored leadership training, visibility opportunities and high-level mentoring, we enable these women to scale their influence and impact across Africa.

  • Purpose: Develop the next generation of African women leaders — entrepreneurs, policymakers, creatives — by equipping them for high impact roles.
  • Target Audience: African women aged approximately 25-40 (born in Africa or with African parentage), multilingual, with leadership experience or high potential across sectors.
  • Expected Impact: Short-term: cohort of highly trained women with enhanced networks and visibility. Long-term: a growing African leadership ecosystem where women shape key sectors, policies and innovation.
  • 43 alumnae have completed the programme to date.
  • Benefits include: high-level networking, board & media training, mentorship, visibility across WIA platforms, and an immersive learning expedition.
